The Versora Progression Desktop is a tool to help users migrate settings and files from Windows to Linux. Versora now also supports Ubuntu.

The downside is that you need a license of Versora for each desktop you migrate. At $29 per copy I can't imagine that many schools or large businesses would purchase this.
